Ella turns 1 Year | Buffalo New York Baby Photographer
February 12, 2014
One of my photography business goals for 2014 was to start a blog. I have been putting it off for so many reasons, the biggest reason being that I am not the best writer and I was never really sure what to write about. ( I am better at expressing myself through my images) I am constantly asking my sister, who is a teacher, to proof read things for me to make sure I sound intelligent in some way or another. However, in the last couple weeks as I really became serious about writing a photography blog I jotted down some ideas. Within three weeks I have a list of almost 20 topics besides blogging portrait sessions that I want to write about and I am officially excited about it! Since my sister will not be proof reading all of these they will by no means be perfect however, I am excited to finally set my goal in motion. With that said I have decided to write my first entry on my first session in 2014.
I have been photographing baby Ella since the day she was born. I have been friends with her mommy for over 20 years so I also get to see her often and it has been an awesome experience watching her grow. I still cannot believe how quickly 2013 flew by and how much she has changed. Here are some of my favorite shots from Ella's past portrait sessions & her 1 year photos...
For anyone that knows me knows that I love the outtakes in portrait session for so many reasons. I like to include a few outtakes in client galleries as well. Why? I know these will not end up on a canvas in anyone's living room (at least I hope they don't) but it's what's real, it's what happened during their session, they make me laugh and ultimately I want to share that laughter with my clients. I am fully aware that some photographers would completely discourage this since it is in a photographers best interest to only release images that reflect your style of work however, I can't resist. I want each of my clients to laugh, cry, and love their images when viewing their galleries and continue to go back and view them over and over again. With that said here are a couple of Ella's "are we done yet???" images...and they are still adorable!
